Parent's Trip to Melbourne 2010 - September

My parents took 10 days off to come down to visit us. We went to various places and one of them included a farmhouse. We loved it. Daniel got to play outdoors with the bike and the dogs were so friendly.

Here he is - grinning away with his flower.

My family enjoying the simple pleasure on the farm.

And strolling along to look at the residents.
We loved it - the place is called The Lavender Farm located at Healsville.
Here is the link!

We took a drive up to Mt Donna Buang from the farm to see the snow!
Not knowing that there was snow- we werent really dressed for it and was freezing!
BUT it was the 1st time that my parents & Daniel encountered snow so it was worth it!

look what we found! A cutie, or two!

Its all food and fun while my parents are about and I'm glad for the family reunion, even though its short.

Choo Choo train ride & Moo Moo farm day

It was a public holiday in Melbourne & we thought we bring kiddo out on a day trip. Here he is outside the Collingwood Children's Farm.

This fateful cafe proably ruined our entry to the farm. I queued for half an hour for food and waiting an hour for the food to come, the coffee & food was great; but not worth waiting that long for. Our friends brought their own food, finished it, went into the farm, and came out, and we were only just finishing off our lunch. We didnt go in at the end.

This is the half an hour queue!

And this is the food - that they had to perhaps kill a pig for and wait for the chook to lay some eggs. They taste fresh though.

And these are the patient customers; which I felt the lady at the counter should have told us about the 40min wait, and we could have passed. but still it was a pleasant day, and it was not too bad, except our friends where waiting out in thier car as we tagged along with them. :)

And then, we headed off to another fun venue, and this is Daniel being cheeky and obviously enjoying himself!

We visited the Diamond Valley Miniature Railway in Eltham and sat on a ride ( 20min) for only $3! Its definately a value for money ride, and its enjoyable. A note of advise for winter time, is to bring warm enough clothing, we did, and it was ok.

This is the ride that we sat on; with 2 other set of friends that came.

well well, Daniel is having a ball!

These cost $3 per ticket & like I said, the ride is good.

Here's a picture of us squeezing into the shot before the train took off.

And of course, a nice warm coffee for us all after the cooling ride. It was definately an eventful day.
